Today’s post was written by Reuben Krippner director on the Office 365 team.
Today we’re excited to announce new ways that you can access and manage your OneDrive for Business files from your Mac and iOS devices.
In the last few months we’ve rolled out new mobile experiences across Android and Windows Phone, which allow people to connect to both their personal and business OneDrive storage from a single app. We’re excited to announce that today we released an updated OneDrive app for iOS that provides access to personal and work storage. This release rounds out the first phase of our mobile investments that deliver a single OneDrive experience across work and life.
Download OneDrive for macOS 10.12 or later and enjoy it on your Mac. Keep your files protected and accessible on all your devices with Microsoft OneDrive. Easily share documents, photos, and other files with friends, family, and colleagues, and even collaborate in real-time in Office. Today, Office 365—with modern, cloud-connected versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, and OneDrive—is now available to download as a bundle on the Mac App Store. Microsoft OneDrive is a cloud-based storage and syncing solution that works on Macs, PCs, and mobile device with access to the internet. After you install Office 365 with OneDrive on your Mac, it appears to be just another folder. Download this app from Microsoft Store for Windows 10, Windows 10 Mobile, Windows Phone 8.1, Windows Phone 8, Windows 10 Team (Surface Hub), HoloLens, Xbox One. See screenshots, read the latest customer reviews, and compare ratings for OneDrive. For Office 2016, you will need to use a custom installation of Office 2016 to extract OneDrive for Business. Let us fix this for you. To have us create a custom installation of Office 2016 to extract OneDrive for Business, click Download. In the File Download dialog box, select Run or Open, and then follow the steps in the easy fix wizard.
We also heard the feedback from Mac users wanting to be able to easily access and take their OneDrive for Business files offline. Today we released the public preview of our OneDrive for Business sync client for Mac, which provides a simple and secure way to manage and sync your files through the familiar Finder experience.
As of recent, my OneDrive has been having issues with syncing and I suspect it's because I'm running an outdated version on Mac (see screenshot below) - How do I update the standalone installed version of OneDrive on Mac? Do I simply download and install the latest version?
You can download the iOS app from the app store, and the Mac sync client preview from the Microsoft Download Center. For further details on today’s releases check out the OneDrive blog.

As Microsoft kicks off its Ignite 2018 conference today, it's announcing that one of OneDrive's most useful features is now headed to Mac users. Files On-Demand, which lets you see your OneDrive files from Finder without eating up any local storage, is now available for testing with Insiders before it rolls out to everyone at a later date.
From Microsoft:
Today, we're announcing OneDrive Files On-Demand for Mac, a way to access all your personal and work files from the cloud in Finder without using storage space and only download them when you need them. Files On-Demand gives the Mac an intelligent connection to the cloud and is just one more example of the power of Office on the Mac platform.
Files On-Demand will land for all OneDrive for Mac users at a later point, but you can get an early look by opting in to become and Office Insider. You'll want to make sure you're updated to Mac OS Mojave 10.14 and download the OneDrive Files On-Demand for Mac preview build to get started. During setup for new users, Files On-Demand will be turned on by default.
